Odd Girl Out

Okay, there is something that I need to vent; prepare for the profanity.

Now, maybe almost all of you, my friends, heard about this singer named, Rebecca Black. She became an instant hit for a wrong reason: her "Friday" song was an embarrassment. Honestly, I haven't even listen the whole song. Just the very beginning due to my brother listening to it. "The song is terrible," he said. "Only because the autotune makes it sound worse." Now, I read the lyric (which was written by the songwriters, not her!) and yes, I agreed; It's absolutely terrible. However, what pissed me off is how she have been receiving death treats from several people on her Twitter, MySpace, etc: "I hope you cut yourself and die." "I hate you, please die." "Die, bitch! No one like you!" "Go die in a whole bitch" "Go kill yourself!" etc

I mean, WHATTHEFUCK. She's thirteen years old for God's sake! This is cyberbullying. This situation is a very serious issue, and it's no fucking joke. Cyberbullying have a high chance of leading teens to anxiety, fear, depression, and suicide. My brother said, "I'm sure she's a good singer, just gotta rid of that autotune." I'm not sure how autotune sounds like, but according to Urban Dictionary (pretty slang and saratic website, that is), it means, "it is used to disguise inaccuracies and mistakes." I hope she'll stand up for herself.

These kind of people disgusts me.

oh! I have this DVD that relates to cyberbullying. I bought it back when I was only 15 years old. It was based on the book which I also read during that time. The film is the original channel kind, and it was for the Lifetime channel - one of my favorite channels! Back to the point, it's called "Odd Girl Out." It was released in 2005, and Alexa Vega (well-known in Spy Kid film series) stared in it. That movie got me emotional :( but it was still a good film!
